150 Years of Heritage & Hospitality
Since 1876, Culloden Estate & Spa has welcomed guests through its doors, evolving from the official residence of the Bishops of Down, Connor and Dromore into one of Northern Ireland’s most celebrated five-star destinations.
Throughout its history, the estate has played host to royalty, dignitaries and generations of visitors, with its Scottish Baronial architectural style, designed by the prominent Belfast architectural firm Young and Mackenzie, and beautifully preserved interiors reflecting the craftsmanship and grandeur of its past. Sir William Hastings purchased the hotel in 1967, quickly evolving into an internationally renowned luxury, and in 1996, becoming Northern Ireland’s first hotel to achieve five-star status.
Today, that rich heritage sits alongside exceptional hospitality, elegant accommodation and one of the country’s leading luxury spa experiences. Home to an extensive range of wellness facilities and award-winning Medik8 treatments, the spa has become a destination in its own right, offering guests the opportunity to restore mind and body within the peaceful surroundings of this historic estate.
As we celebrate 150 years, Culloden Estate & Spa continues to honour its remarkable legacy while creating memorable experiences for generations to come.
